Class Update Dec 2015

Organisation is well underway by the Manly Sailing Club  for the 60th Anniversary of the Zephyr Class and 2016 National Championships (21 to 24th April). MSC have appointed a subcommittee of Manly Zephyr owners including Race Officer Harold Bennett and well connected local sailor Peter Busfield. To raise funds for an official commemorative publication of the history and developments of the Zephyr Class the organising committee are raising funds through various levels of sponsorship. I urge all past and present Zephyr owners to assist with sponsoring this worthy publication. A successful publication and event will help ensure the Zephyr Class remains strong well into the future.

ZOA members will be out on the water over summer, so inquiries for Spars and Sails may time some time to process - but with the Nationals later this year, the pre-Nationals demand is likely to be later.

The cost of spars has increased - a new ordering spreadsheet has been loaded onto the Zephyr web site.

Progress on the glass composite hull continues, thanks to the efforts of Greg Salthouse of Salthouse Boatbuilders, ably assisted by Don Currie and Grant Beck, amongst many. You can see progress on the Facebook page.

The Facebook page continues to be popular, even though it was said the Zehyr sailors are not part of the Facebook demographic!

Best Wishes for the Festive Season
